Made of good quality Hoten white jade, this notched bi disk has a design of three equal parts each of which has five notches and round hypotenuse angle. While the funtionality of notched bi disk is still unknown, many postulates have been proposed such as an instrument of astronomy. We believe it is a ritual object which may be used when pray to the sun. Archaic evidences such as cleaving veins, diffusive markings, differential weathering and exposed crystals are presented.
